Pray for Fighting Fingers
Psalm 144:1- Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle (NIV).
Lord, you teach hands to war and fingers to fight.
Lord, you’ve given each of us specific gifts and talents.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6-There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work (NIV).
You promise to train us for battle.
Psalm 18:34- He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze (NIV).
Our hands aren’t feeling strong today, Lord. We don’t feel like ______________ (entertaining, preaching, writing or serving or whatever it is you are asking us to do today.)
Our hearts and mouths overflow with ideas, but if they don’t turn into action, our fingers aren’t doing their job.
You tell us not to neglect our gift (1 Timothy 4:14a, NIV).
So Lord, we ask that you strengthen our feeble hands, and steady the knees that give way (Isaiah 35:3, NIV). For Jesus’ sake. Amen.
