“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” -1 John 4:12
I recently read the book Guerilla Lovers: Changing the World with Revolutionary Compassion and was challenged. Here in 1 John 4:12 we’re told that no one has seen God, but that we can see Him in the way we show love to one another.
In Guerilla Lovers the author talks about doing random acts of love to people around us. The person who picks up your trash, the postal worker, a police officer, a firefighter, the person behind you in line at Starbucks…all are people who we should target with this Guerilla Love.
After reading the book I was motivated to try to find a way to share this love with another person. I was driving to work and felt God call me to pay the toll at the toll booth for the person behind me. It was a really great feeling to randomly share the love of Christ with a person who wouldn’t be expecting it.
We’re called to live lives that are different than the world. We’ve been shown love that makes it impossible to not share it with those around us.
So start thinking of ways that you can randomly share this love with another person!
