Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.
They had been planted with love, fast-growing (and how) poplar saplings – expected to grow big and strong. Now years later, they are indeed big and strong, but they are being taken down because they are dangerous to the homes and people around them. There’ll be a major cleanup necessary once it is done.
We humans start out as babes (saplings if you will, newly planted on this earth), expected to grow big and strong, so we will contribute to and benefit the community around us: but as the years pass by we can outgrow the innocence of our youth, becoming flawed by sin and bad choices, to the point that we need to be brought to our knees (or cut-down). We have become a danger to ourselves and those around us: only when we are removed from the areas we have grown ugly in, can God begin the cleanup that is much-needed in our spirits – and in our lives.
Psalm 51:1-2 – “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquities and cleanse me from my sin.”
Prayer: Father God, let us be willing to confess our sins, so we can be forgiven and purified, to become what You planned us to be. Amen
